Blizzard Entertainment has announced that it plans to release a new, free-to-play strategy card title called Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. The game will be similar to the numerous other titles in the genre, such as Magic the Gathering, but will make use of Warcraft's rich world and characters.
Players will be able to choose from a selection of decks themed around Warcraft classes, and will be able to pick from all manner of spells, weapons and heroes as they pit their cards against friends over Battle.net, or against AI opponents. New cards will be craftable, and can also be purchased through a microtransaction system.
There's no release date at this time, although you can enrol for beta version on the website (link below). The game will also be playable at Pax East, and when released, will be available for PC, Mac and iPad.
