It’s one of the most eagerly awaited FPS titles around at the moment, but Gearbox Software and Sega aren’t going to rush this one out of the door. Aliens: Colonial Marines has been delayed once more, and will now slip past its proposed autumn 2012 release, and is now set for launch on February 12 2013 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, with no confirmation as yet for the release date of the Wii U incarnation.
Taking place after the events of the second film in the Alien saga, Colonial Marines sees you head down the pipe, 5x5, as your team discover the U.S.S. Sulaco in orbit around LV-426. As the ship was thought lost, your team investigate, only to find the Sulaco has found itself a new, very agitated crew.
There’s no denying that the game is looking superb, and both the visual and audio take you right back to James Cameron’s classic. As long as the game play holds up as well as the aesthetics, this may be the best Alien licensed game yet.
So, to ease the wait a little, here’s a brand new, suspense-heavy trailer.
