We're being deliberately cautious in the Star Wars: Episode VII news that we report, given that there's an awful lot of rumour out there, but precious little fact. However, a new piece of information about the film appears to have come to light.
One time Harvey Dent Billy Dee Williams' most famous role remains that of Lando Calrissian, and given that it seems many Star Wars cast alumni are being re-recruited for Episode VII, it was always possible that he might be asked back to.
Turns out that he has been. Film Buff reports that Williams appeared at New Jersey-based Monster Mania convention that took place last weekend, and was asked whether he was set to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII. As the site reports, "Billy Dee said he has been asked, but he hasn't decided if is going to do it or not yet". The site notes that just a week or so before, Williams had said that he hadn't been contacted about the movie, so it looks as if things have started to fall into place over the past days.
Williams, who's about to turn 76, has regularly returned to the role over the years. Whether he's keen to put himself through the shoot of a major blockbuster again remains to be seen though.
Star Wars: Episode VII, directed by JJ Abrams, is due in 2015.
