If we were to draw up a list of things we're fans of here at Den Of Geek, Nicolas Cage and beards would feature highly. If you like us share our enthusiasm of such things, we've got a real treat for you in the form of a picture of the maverick actor on the set of his latest film, sporting a rather smashing piece of facial foliage.
If you were to scrutinise the picture you could say that the beard looks a little too neat and even to be real. You could could also suggest, if you're feeling particularly cheeky, that he may have developed a fondness for fake beards in a similar way to how he seemed to develop a fondness for wigs.
Anyway, I suppose we should say something about the film; it's the Southern drama Joe directed by David Gordon Green, and follows the experiences of a Texan former convict named Joe (Cage) who lives a quiet life in an attempt to leave his darker days behind him. He finds an opportunity for redemption as a 15 year old boy named Gary comes to town seeking work as he tries to support his family. As the bond between the pair grows, Joe sets out to protect Gary as they both strive for a better life.
