As the web digests the controversial news that Ricky Gervais has signed on for the sequel to The Muppets, reports have emerged that he could be about to be joined by Tina Fey. The comedy actress is in "late-stage negotiations" for the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Currently going under the working title The Muppets... again, the sequel will be directed by James Bobin, who helmed the 2011 movie, who's also co-written the script with Nicholas Stoller. And that script sounds as though it'll take in a number of global locations, given that Fey's role is rumoured to be that of a "Russian gulag prison guard", and that another recent signing, Ty Burrell, is apparently playing an Interpol officer.
The Muppets... again is due to commence shooting in the UK later this month, so expect lots more news to emerge from the production soon.
