NBC's Bob Greenblatt "would love nothing more" than to see Community continue after season four...

As we speak, the Television Critics Association Winter 2013 Press Tour is in full swing (somewhere between a trade show and Comic-Con for US TV writers), and occasionally chucking out the odd juicy tidbit from US TV's head honchos. The latest of these to grab our attention is from Bob Greenblatt, who yesterday announced that NBC is "...absolutely hopeful [Community's shortened fourth season] will lead to a fifth season. I'd love nothing more than to see it continue."

Community's fans don't need reminding about the show's recent upheaval, which include a delayed start to season four, and the departures of creator Dan Harmon, star Chevy Chase, and staff writer Megan Ganz. With each new reported loss, that 'six-seasons-and-a-movie' warcry was beginning to ring more and more hollow. Perhaps not though, if Greenblatt's words are to be believed.

Community's thirteen-episode fourth season is due to start on the 7th of February, and when it does, Greenblatt told press "I think you'll see relatively the same show that you did before, maybe with a little bit more heart built into it. But we didn't fundamentally change it."
