This is the kind of news we love reporting. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck's inventive, experimental, and intensely stylish show, American Horror Story, is confirmed to be returning for a new series next autumn.
Currently in its second season, Asylum (each series tells a stand-alone story in a new setting with recurring actors taking different parts), American Horror Story has satisfied the ratings mongers and received an order from FX for thirteen further episodes. The even better news is that Jessica Lange - one of the best things about the current creepy sixties-set season - is set to return once again.
Here's what FX President, John Landgraf had to say on the recommission:
“With American Horror Story: Asylum, Ryan and Brad have raised the bar in every way from Murder House, the first American Horror Story miniseries, and their original idea—the notion of doing an anthological series of miniseries with a repertory cast—has proven groundbreaking, wildly successful and will prove to be trendsetting. We can’t wait to see what deviously brilliant ideas they come up with for their third miniseries.”
