Last week we found out about the existence of Hideo Kojima’s latest foray into the world of Metal Gear, and the new game, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, was seen running on PC and making use of the new FOX game engine.
The new outing, which is reported to be a more open world affair than previous instalments, and also features a much more flexible and up to date stealth system, would also welcome back the series protagonist, Snake.
Well, now we have an official trailer to go with the news, and in true Kojima fashion, it answers some questions, and poses even more, but one thing’s clear, this is a very sexy looking Metal Gear.
The game, which appears to be set around the Cuban missile crisis, looks to feature ‘Naked’ Snake, a.k.a. Big Boss, rather than Solid Snake, who was last seen in Guns of the Patriots.
Featuring a shadowy and ever so slightly crispy-looking villain, apparently posing, with some underlings as members of Fox Hound Special Forces in order to shake things up in Cuba, Snake’s involvement in more global situations of dire peril will be the order of the day, and the game should follow on from Snake Eater, if quite some time later, given Naked Snake’s aged appearance.

The trailer, which begins with an impressive CG sequence, eventually demonstrates actual gameplay, albeit briefly, and in this snippet we can see that the game will be true Metal Gear Solid, but on a larger scale, as is seen by the size of the base. Not much else is shown, sadly, but there’ll no doubt be far more footage and details released soon.
