It's been a good year or so now since we first heard of plans to put together a sequel to Bad Santa. Billy Bob Thornton has expressed his willingness to return to the title roll, and work on the screenplay had been progressing.
Now, it's been announced that a director has been found for Bad Santa 2, and it's not original helmer Terry Zwigoff. This time, the controls are being handed over to Steve Pink, and he's also set to do a script rewrite as well. Pink previously directed Hot Tub Time Machine, and has penned the scripts to Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity, too.
If there's rewrite work still to be done, then it may yet be a little time before the cameras get rolling. But it's not out of the question to expect Bad Santa 2 towards the end of next year. Heck, they might even put it out at Christmas...
