This one’s a bit of a shame. It had been strongly rumoured that the villain for Marvel’s upcoming Thor 2 would be played by Casino Royale antagonist Mads Mikkelsen. But, while the rest of the cast falls into place – Zachary Levi confirmed his involvement this week – other commitments have forced Mikkelsen to drop out.
Zoomin broke the news. Basically, Mikkelsen has been cast as Hannibal Lecter in the new NBC show, Hannibal, and the production schedule on that is going to clash with filming on Thor 2. Thor 2 is expected to start shooting, with Chris Hemsworth back in the title role, by the end of the summer.
