We've not had the pleasure ourselves yet, but over in America, the first couple of official The Dark Knight Rises screenings have clearly taken place. And while official reviews will be embargoed until closer to the film's release (and some have had to take their Twitter comments down, so Warner Bros appears to be doing some mopping up already), some of those lucky enough to have seen the film have taken to social networking land already. Bottom line: they're happy. Very happy.
Appreciating that such early reactions always tend to veer on the positive side, there's nonetheless quite an ecstatic thread running through the comments thus far...

"The dedication towards making a truly dignified conclusion to the caped crusaders most profitable series has paid off. What has been created is not only the best collection of comic book movies ever produced, but also the most outstanding installment of the Nolan’s Batman."
Zach Pinucus, Twitter
"The Dark Knight Rises is not only easily the best Batman movie yet, but now one of my favorite movies I've ever seen. It was unbelievable!"
"I forgot to say Anne Hathaway IS Catwoman. She is perfect casting and is so so awesome in The Dark Knight Rises! Funny and tough! Love her!"
Victor J DePasqual, Twitter
"You people seriously have no idea the gut punch you have coming in The Dark Knight Rises. I can’t wait to see it again. And again. And again"
Other reports suggest tears, a standing ovation at one screening, and talk of possible Oscar recognition. Again, these are all very early reactions, and so it's best to treat them just as that. However, they can't help but raise the excitement levels just a little bit further.
When official reviews start hitting, we'll let you know...
