So far, we’ve mostly been reporting on the Roland Emmerich side of the upcoming battle of two White House invasion movies. Emmerich is making White House Down, but he's going head to head with Antione Fuqua’s Olympus Has Fallen. It’s only fair, then, that we bring you some news for the latter.
Gerard Butler is already in place as the ex-special service agent who is responsible for protecting the president against a group of invading terrorists in the film. And now? It's been revealed that Aaron Eckhart has been elected to play the president.
Emmerich’s film, meanwhile, will see Channing Tatum and Maggie Gyllenhaal protect president Jamie Foxx against a paramilitary group who invade Pennsylvania Avenue's most famous property.
It will be interesting to see which one of these films turns out to be the winner at the box office. It's like Volcano vs Dante's Peak all over again...
More on Olympus Has Fallen when we get it.
