Some users powering up their Xboxes this week and logging onto Xbox Live may be the recipients of the latest dashboard update to hit the Microsoft platform. A small number of users are going to receive an update ahead of the majority, whilst the rest will be endowed with the update next week.
The update itself isn’t a substantial one, and as stated by Major Nelson, simply features a number of behind the scenes tweaks and preparations for future updates which will, of course, include the usual large-scale autumn/fall update.
The big update to happen later in the year will presumably include support for Microsoft’s SmartGlass, which allows users to communicate, cross-platform, with a range of mobile devices, including tablets. It’s also likely to include the long awaited support for Internet Explorer.
