A new picture of Lena Headey in Dredd appears, as the actress reveals a little more about her thoughts on the film...
Things have gone a bit quiet on the Dredd front again recently, which is perhaps a little curious, given that the movie is coming out in September. We suspect that we might get a trailer soon, but in the meantime, here's the only new piece of material we have regarding the film. It's a picture of Lena Headey in the movie, which accompanied an interview with the actress over at the Los Angeles Times.
Headey talks a little about the movie, too. She says that “The world [in the film] feels really British, and I don’t know if that’s because it’s so dirty and dark. And it’s … violent. Just in terms of gunplay, they’re not afraid to show blood and gunshot wounds. And it’s set up in this concrete sort of shanty town — it’s shanty but they’re blocks — concrete favelas.”
Headey, currently being seen in Game Of Thrones, plays Madeline 'Ma-Ma' Madrigal in the movie. Madrigal is a prostitute, who takes over the drug business of her pimp when she kills him. And Headey says of her character, “I think of her like an old great white shark who is just waiting for someone bigger and stronger to show up and kill her".
Granted, that's not much new material on Dredd. But it's something. When we have more, we'll let you know...
